Strengths: Excellent scans Lot of options as far as original media sizes Auto mode for color slides. Auto cropping

Weaknesses: Large on desk No paper manual Some what complex. Requires a lot of trail and error.

Summary: The out of box experience is somewhat intimidating. If was difficult moving back and forth from the scanner interface to the electronic manual. It requires a lot of trial and error to get desirable results. For most scans I ended up using the auto mode to get reasonable results. Digital Ice and dust removal must be used sparingly or some of the finer detail will be removed from the originals. Should be able to give specific settings a specific user meaningful name as opposed to a sequential numeric value.
